Local mom Tosha Worthen found her calling for sure when she opened her food truck, Boro Bowls. After tasting bowls similar to the ones she now serves in Murfreesboro, she knew she had to share them with everyone. "It's delicious, healthy and perfect for any meal or treat," says Worthen. She's got a huge following, too. Families can't wait to get their hands on another superfruit smoothie bowl or smoothie. They're so colorful, too!
Standing in line for the first time ever, I was eager to try one of her famed smoothies. Everyone in line was a repeat customer, too — they look for where Boro Bowls pops up. And, she's only been open since June 1 of this year!
"The OG Acai and Aloha bowls seem to be the most popular," says Worthen. "I think since people know it’s a nutrient-dense, healthy treat that keeps you full for hours. It’s a nice treat post workout, too." Which may be why so many kids are in line to get one, too. After a hot day playing sports, this seems to be the right treat to help kids cool down. Worthen even says you can take a smoothie bowl home to freeze and enjoy another day — it stays the same consistency days later.
Find her made-to-order organic acai and pitaya smoothies and bowls — bowls feature toppings such as granola, a variety of fresh fruit, superfoods and local honey — at her usual spot on the corner of Vine and Maple Streets in downtown Murfreesboro. She's there two to three days a week. While you may not call ahead to place your order, you can, however, sign up for the rewards program. Start saving the more you buy. Prices range from $9 smoothie bowls, $7 adult smoothies, $5 kid smoothies.
Keep up with Boro Bowls on Facebook to find where she's at the day you decide to try this sweet and healthy snack.
