The Touch-a-Truck and Touch of History is a combined, free family event hosted by the city of Goodlettsville at Moss-Wright Park.

Touch-a-Truck and Touch of History

Friday, June 12 | 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
FREE

This annual summer event combines Touch a Truck with a Touch of History at Moss-Wright Park in Goodlettsville from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. For Touch-a-Truck, kids can sit in the seat, honk the horn and turn the wheels of their favorite trucks or vehicles, including fire trucks, dump trucks, police cruisers, cranes and more. A Touch of History provides an opportunity to wander through the fort at Mansker’s Station and witness a wide range of demonstrations and activities that provide insights into life in the 18th century.

 

Ages 2 and older need a ticket to enter Lucky Ladd Farms Fun Park & Zoo.

Splash Days at Lucky Ladd Farms

Thursdays – Sundays thru Aug. 2 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
$18 per person for ages 2 and older

Get ready for the coolest summer adventure around — Splash Days at Lucky Ladd Farms (4374 Rocky Glade Road, Eagleville)! Weekends only starting August 8.

 


Movies Under the Stars shows the same movie at four different locations weekly through July 25.

Murfreesboro Movie Under the Stars: Brave

Saturday, June 13 | 8 p.m.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to a free movie under the stars in Murfreesboro — at a different location each day. Mondays at Barfield Crescent Park (697 Veterans Pkwy.); Tuesdays at Cannonsburgh Village (312 S. Front St.); Thursdays at Richard Siegel Park (515 Cherry Lane); and Saturdays at Fountains at Gateway (1500 Medical Center Pkwy.). Concessions will be available to purchase. 

 


Middle Tennessee fishin’ holes invite youngsters to cast a line free of charge all week long.

Few memories stick out as clearly as catching that first fish! Kids can fish for free all week long without a license in all public bodies of water.

FINAL WEEKEND! Musicians Corner Concert Series (+ Kidsville!)

Musicians Corner takes place weekends through June 13 at Centennial Park (2500 West End Ave., Nashville). The family friendly event includes live music, food vendors, local artisans and more. It’s dog-friendly, open to the public and kids come front and center for Kidsville — a craft and fun tent just for them.

 


Ascend Amphitheater hosts its inaugural Community Day on Saturday, June 13.

Ascend Amphitheater will feature a variety of family-friendly interactive experiences for the first Community Day. Explore Metro Nashville Police Department emergency and safety vehicles up close, including a helicopter, marine unit boat, horse-mounted police and K-9 units, as well as fire trucks and ambulances from the Nashville Fire Department. In addition, the amphitheater lawn will hold multiple experiences, including yoga and fitness workshops, a kid zone with numerous activities for kids, free giveaways and more.

Musical Instrument Petting Zoo

Weekdays through August 7 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
FREE*

Come bang a drum, pluck a guitar and strum a ukulele at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (222 Rep. John Lewis Way S, Nashville). Instructors will offer guidance as you try your hand at all the instruments at the zoo. Included with admission; free to members.

  • Local kids ages 18 and younger who are residents of Davidson, Rutherford, Williamson and other bordering counties are free plus 25% off admission for up to two accompanying adults.

 


 

 


This evening program is designed to introduce young explorers to the wonders of the natural world after dark. Happens June 12, 19 and July 10, 17.

Family Firefly Hikes at Owl’s Hill

Friday, June 12 | 7 – 8:30 p.m.
$15 per adult/$12 child/ages 2 and younger are free
Registration required.

Find out what makes owls such good hunters, why a firefly lights up and how your vision changes in the dark at Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary (545 Beech Creek Road, Brentwood). Meet owl ambassadors, listen for night sounds and keep an eye out for nocturnal creatures during a kid-friendly hike through the meadow and orchard.

 


Step into a fairytale with unicorn encounters and more at Lucky Ladd Farms on Saturdays and Sundays, June 13 – 28.

Step into a world of magic and marvel at Lucky Ladd Farms (4374 Rocky Glade Road in Eagleville)! Encounter unicorns, grand dragons and joyful pixie fairies strolling about the Farm. Each visit promises a unique experience for children with exclusive meet-n-greets with their own live unicorns.

 


On the second Sunday each month, join in at The Frist for kid-friendly programming, family tours and multi-sensory gallery experiences.

Sunday, June 14 | 1 – 5 p.m.
FREE for ages 18 and younger ($20 for adult nonmembers)

On the second Sunday of each month head to the Frist Art Museum for kid-friendly programming, family tours, multisensory gallery experience and a visit to the Martin ArtQuest Gallery.
