Where Every Family Matters

Turkey Trots, Walks and Runs This Thanksgiving

Register your family for a Thanksgiving Day run or walk so you can give back to others and also work up a big appetite!

Who’s ready to gobble ’til they wobble?! Thanksgiving Day is November 27, 2025. Here’s a roundup of our favorite turkey runs, walks and trots in Middle Tennessee:

Franklin Turkey Trot

Now in its 26th year, this Thanksgiving Day tradition is a family feel-good, do-good time. More than 3,000 participants run/walk the 10k ($50), 5k ($45) or 1k Kids Turkey Chase for ages 9 and under ($15) through the heart of Cool Springs. The event benefits GraceWorks Ministries, the Franklin-based nonprofit that provides food, shelter and support to neighbors in need. Each Trotter crosses the finish line knowing that a local family now has food, shelter and support because they ran for GraceWorks.

Music City Turkey Trot 5K and 1-Mile Waddle

A costume contest, largest teams competition and entertainment on the course, plus finisher medals and long-sleeved shirts for all participants in this run/walk through Music City. Meet at Nissan Stadium (1 Titans Way, Nashville). Cost is $25 – $40  and starts at 8 a.m.

Nashville Turkey Trot

Nashville Turkey Trot 10 Mile and 5K

The Nashville Thanksgiving tradition continues this turkey day with a 10-Mile and 5k turkey trot benefiting Special Olympics Tennessee. It all starts at Wave Country (2320 Two Rivers Pkwy., Nashville) at 8 a.m. There is also a 5K Kid’s Division Fun Run (11 Years and Under) for $14.94 and a Kids 100 Meter Dash (age 8 & under) for free. “Donut” stop until you get to the finish line! Nashville’s very own McGaugh’s Donuts & a commemorative finisher medal waiting for you at the finish line!

Borodash

Families can enjoy this 4-mile walk/run through historic Murfreesboro before filling up on turkey and fixin’s. Meet downtown at the Library Plaza (105 W Vine St, Murfreesboro). Day-of registration is from 6:30 – 7 a.m. Race starts at 8 a.m. Cost is $45 in the month of November; $50 day of race.
