Nothing says summer in Tennessee like a day on the river — and now’s the time to really try and cool off! Grab your friends, pack your favorite snacks, and spend a few hours floating downstream in a tube, soaking up the sunshine and letting the current do the work. Expect a relaxing ride with the occasional gentle rapid to keep things interesting — otherwise, it’s all about kicking back and enjoying the view. Ready to plan your next river day? Located one hour and 15 minutes from Nashville. Tube along the Red River, a smooth and slow-moving waterway. The outfitter provides transportation for your group along with tubes. No children under age 5 are permitted and no pets. Children under age 18 must have a parents or guardian sign a waiver for them.

Rent tubes equipped with back rests and cup holders for a three-mile route on the Harpeth River. Trips are by reservation only and take approximately four-to-six hours. Includes a life vest, linking straps and optional paddles. You can rent a pod — a group linked together with a cooler in the middle or just go on your own. Cost is $50 per floater (adults and kids ages 6+).  “Toters” are available for ages 5 and under (or for your cooler up to 50 quarts) for $30.
