Where Every Family Matters

Hummingbird Fest at Barfield Crescent Park

The 2026 Hummingbird Festival happens in Murfreesboro’s Barfield Crescent Park on Saturday, Sept. 5, offering all a chance to see hummingbirds up close and learn more about these tiny birds.

The festival takes place at the Wilderness Station. Bird banding will begin at 8 a.m., while the rest of the activities will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Families can watch live bird-banding demonstrations, take part in hands-on activities, visit educational booths and browse local craft vendors.

Food trucks will also be on site, exploring the hiking trails is an option and the Wilderness Station will be open for all to see the Animal Ambassadors.

The festival is hosted by Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation.
