Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation officially opened its new Skate Park and Pump Track with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, July 19 at 10 a.m. at Old Fort Park. Following the ceremony, the skate park is now open daily from daylight to dusk.
The new facility features a street-scape style concrete park with a pump track (which is a track for bikes, skateboarders or scooters).
The entire project was approved by the Murfreesboro City Council on January 25, 2024. Constructed by New Line Skateparks FL, Inc., the project cost $888,449 and will provide a long-requested amenity for the local skating community.
Mayor Shane McFarland and Recreational Services Executive Director Nate Williams have expressed excitement about the new Murfreesboro skate park.
