Take ’em Ice Skating!

Glide into the New Year with a fun winter outing with the whole family! There are plenty of local spots to get a little ice skating in over the holidays.

Ice skating is a favorite holiday activity! Browse your options below and be sure you’re all wearing gloves because you WILL fall down!

7 OUTDOOR Ice Skating Options in Middle Tennessee:

Christmas + ICE! at Gaylord Opryland | Nashville Guru

1. GAYLORD OPRYLAND RESORT

Hours: Fri 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Sat. 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Sun. 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Mon. – Thu. 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Admission: $28; purchase online only

Parking fee is not included in admission. Children age 11 and younger must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.


2. NASHVILLE YARDS RINK UNDER BROAD

131 10th Ave. N, Nashville
Open Dec. 22, 23, 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2025
Hours: Book a 30-minute block. Sat. & Sun. 2 – 8:30 p.m.; weekdays  5 – 8:30 p.m.
Admission: Weekdays: $10 per guest (45 minutes), Weekends: $15 per guest (1 hour)

The new Nashville Yards Rink Under Broad offers a synthetic ice rink, as well as pickleball courts, food and drink vendors, and a fire pit to keep warm. Per Nashville Yards, the “glice” rink is made from “high-quality synthetic ice” that offers the same thrill on artificial ice as on standard ice. Located at the Ascension Saint Thomas Landing underneath Broadway, the ice skating rink was previously located on the rooftop of the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Tickets to skate must be purchased in addition to Single-Night Admission or Platinum Pass tickets to Zoolumination ($10 members; $12 non-members).

Entry is first come, first served. Participants are allowed one hour of skate time that rotates out every hour. Hours vary.

5. SMYRNA OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CENTER (SOAC) ICE RINK

Hours:
Differ by day of the week: Nov. 29 – Dec. 21 open Fridays from 4 – 8 p.m., Saturdays from 12 – 8 p.m. and Sundays 1 – 6 p.m. The the rink opens again Dec. 23 – Jan. 4 (closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) on Tuesday – Saturday from 12 – 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m.
Admission: $5 ages 3 – seniors; $7 adults; free 2 and younger

This will be the second year for this seasonal 82’ x 46’ synthetic rink.

They have skate sizes down to a junior size 8! Kiddos that need a smaller size may also use our strap-on skates that fasten to their street shoes. They also have trainer frames for kiddos to hold on to for support!
