The Nashville Children’s Theatre 2025-26 season, dubbed “A Season for Storytellers,” celebrates the tales that define us, connect us and inspire us to grow.
With a lineup that spans whimsical musicals and cherished classics, this season invites guests of all ages to embrace the storyteller within. Whether it’s a pig who learns the true meaning of friendship, a young girl navigating a magical world or a barnyard birthday bash for a beloved pup, each production sparks imagination and deepens our understanding of ourselves and others.
“At NCT, we believe storytelling has the power to build bridges between generations, cultures and communities,” said Colin Peterson, director of education. “This season, we’re inviting our supporters and audiences to be part of that magic. Every ticket, every donation, every shared experience helps us continue to make theater accessible, inclusive and inspiring for all.”
New in the Snuggery
Two productions this season — Inside Out and Backwards and Bingo’s Birthday — are part of NCT’s acclaimed Snuggery program, which offers immersive, interactive theater specifically designed for children ages 0–5. These performances support early childhood development through joyful, hands-on storytelling experiences.
Sensory-friendly for All
All mainstage performances at NCT are sensory-friendly. A Sensory Room located at the back of the auditorium provides tools for self-regulation while still experiencing the show. Additionally, neuro-inclusive performances, specially tailored for audience members with disabilities or sensory sensitivities, are offered throughout the season. Inside Out and Backwards (Snuggery Show)

It’s bedtime—but sleep can wait when imagination takes over! Two siblings transform their room into a topsy-turvy wonderland where gloves swim like fish, shirts growl like beasts and socks groove in a closet dance party. Designed especially for our youngest theater-goers, this playful, participatory piece invites children ages 0–5 to giggle, wiggle and explore a world turned delightfully inside out … and backwards.
Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters: An African Musical (Theatre for Young Audiences Premiere)

Once upon a time, beneath the wide Zimbabwean sky, lived a man with two daughters—both beautiful, but with very different hearts. Based on the beloved book by John Steptoe and told in the rich tradition of African folktales, “Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters” is a sweeping, musical tale of kindness, inner strength and the true test of character. Featuring vibrant new music and lyrics by Taryn Janelle and LeRell Ross of Atlanta’s Synchronicity Theatre, this new adaptation brings Steptoe’s award-winning story to life with color, rhythm and heart. Honored with the Coretta Scott King Award and the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award, this timeless tale is a celebration of culture, family and the beauty within.
Charlotte’s Web

Some Pig. Humble. Radiant. When Wilbur is born smaller than most pigs, it’s his friendships on the Arable family’s farm that save his life in more ways than one. This classic tale weaves an intergenerational message of love, friendship and loss in this adaptation of E.B. White’s immortal masterpiece. Whether it’s Charlotte’s selfless acts of kindness or Wilbur’s journey to find belonging, it’s the ties we share with others that make life truly meaningful.
Bingo’s Birthday (Snuggery Show)
Feb. 7 – May 24, 2026
B-I-N-G-O—and Bingo is his name-o! You’re invited to the barnyard birthday bash of a very special pup. But before the party can begin, Farmers Pickle and Tickle need your help to find the guest of honor! Full of music, mischief and farmyard fun, “Bingo’s Birthday” is an immersive theatrical adventure created especially for children ages 0–5. Come sing, play and celebrate in this down-home, tail-wagging good time!
Seussical: The Musical – (Theatre for Young Audiences Version)
April 11 – May 24, 2026
Dive into the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss in “Seussical: The Musical,” where beloved characters and stories intertwine in a vibrant tapestry of music and imagination. From the loyal Horton the Elephant, who hears a faint cry for help on a speck of dust, to the mischievous Cat in the Hat guiding us through unexpected adventures, this musical brings to life tales like “Horton Hears a Who!” “Gertrude McFuzz” and “The Cat in the Hat.”
