School of Nashville Ballet summer camps kick off next week and some half-day camps have availability. The camps, for children ages 3 to 9, offer mixes of dance, art, music and active play that encourages children to express themselves through movement. Held at the Martin Center for Nashville Ballet (3630 Redmon Street, Nashville), each week-long session is introductory and aims for fun in a supportive environment. Note: All campers must meet age requirements by June 1, 2025.
Campers will:
- Learn age-appropriate dance techniques
- Explore choreography and creative movement
- Enjoy hands-on craft projects
- Engage in imaginative play and teamwork
- Perform in a special in-studio showcase for family and friends
School of Nashville Ballet Summer Camp Schedule:
Magical Creatures Camp
June 2 – 6 or July 7 – 11
Ages 4 – 6 yrs | 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Camper imaginations will be encouraged through mythical creatures such as fairies, unicorns, mermaids, dragons and wizards!
Once Upon a Time Story Ballet Camp
June 2 -6 or July 7 – 11
Ages 7 – 9 yrs | 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Campers will explore the ballet world’s most famous stories including Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker and more.
Animal Adventure Camp
June 9 – 13 or June 23 -27
Ages 3 – 5 yrs | 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Campers will explore the Animal Kingdom using creativity and movement by studying the characteristics of various animal species.
Broadway Stars Camp
June 9 – 13 or June 23 – 27
Ages 6 – 9 yrs | 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
A tap and musical theater-focused camp, kids will study technique through kid-friendly musicals including Annie; Wicked and more!
CarTune Camp
June 16 – 20 or July 14 – 18
Ages 4 – 6 yrs | 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Campers will explor Disney/Pixar Animation movies and rock out to melodies while revisiting much-loved characters from films such as Toy Story; The Incredibles; and Cars.
Dance and Music Mashup Camp
June 16 – 20 or July 14 – 18
Ages 7 – 9 yrs | 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Campers will explore ballet, jazz, hip hop and contemporary dance accompanied by a variety of musical styles to mix, match and mashup.
