Hummingbird Festival Returning to Barfield Crescent Park

The 2026 Hummingbird Festival is returning to Murfreesboro’s Barfield Crescent Park on Saturday, Sept. 5, offering visitors a chance to see hummingbirds up close and learn more about these tiny birds.

The festival will take place at the Wilderness Station. Bird banding will begin at 8 a.m., while the rest of the activities will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors can watch live bird-banding demonstrations, take part in hands-on activities, visit educational booths and browse local craft vendors.

Food trucks will also be on site, and the Wilderness Station will be open for visitors to see its Animal Ambassadors. Guests can also explore the park’s hiking trails.

The festival is hosted by Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation and has become a popular community event.
