Grab your pink outfits and get ready to celebrate: Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, is officially Dolly Day in Nashville! The citywide celebration in Nashville will honor Dolly Parton’s music, generosity, creativity and legendary commitment to helping others. And yes, the date has a little Dolly magic behind it: 9/25 is a nod to her iconic hit “9 to 5.”
How Nashville Is Celebrating Dolly Day
There will be plenty of ways for families and kids to join the fun throughout the city:
- Wear pink: Dress in pink for the day to commemorate Dolly.

Sing along: At 5 p.m., participating Nashville music venues will perform Dolly’s “9 to 5.”

Eat like Dolly: Participating restaurants, coffee shops and bars are encouraged to offer Dolly-inspired food and drink specials, with some proceeds benefiting charity.

Give back: Participating attractions and venues are encouraged to donate admission proceeds to charity. The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, for example, will donate $9.25 from every admission to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

See Nashville in pink: Local businesses are encouraged to light up their buildings in Dolly’s signature color, joining landmarks including the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge and Historic Metro Courthouse and City Hall.

Make a kindness pledge: Visitors can leave messages about how they plan to carry on Dolly’s spirit of kindness at the Bridgestone Arena Visitor Information Center at 501 Broadway.

Pick up some Dolly Day goodies: Free buttons, stickers and bookmarks will be available at the Bridgestone Arena and Fifth + Broadway Visitor Information Centers while supplies last.

Celebrate in your neighborhood: The Dolly in the Districts program will encourage Nashville neighborhoods to create their own family-friendly celebrations, from sidewalk art to neighborhood gatherings.

Share the love: Families can post how they’re celebrating using #DollyDayNashville.

Fireworks: A brief fireworks show honoring Parton is planned for 9:25 p.m. in downtown Nashville.
The giving spirit continues with Give Like Dolly – Middle Tennessee, a charitable campaign supporting local nonprofits and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Middle Tennessee. The campaign will accept donations through Sunday, Sept. 27. And — so very Nashville — Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood will donate all proceeds from Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk on Sept. 25 to Nashville Public Library and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
