Parents often wring their hands about kids with attention issues, but it’s hardest on the kids themselves. Most children have a hard time paying attention and sitting still, but ADHD makes it even worse. That’s why, for the fourth year, Brentwood’s Currey Ingram Academy is offering a summer camp experience just for them. The “ADHD Summer Treatment Program” is for students ages 8 – 12 with ADHD, and it’s open to the public. Running June 11 – July 27 (except for the week of July 2), the six-week camp takes place five days a week fro, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
DAILY ACTIVITIES
If an ADHD camp sounds like it might not be fun, think again. Each day, kids will have some academic time, but it will be balanced out with games, outdoor activities and more. Kids will build their ability to self-regulate, listen attentively and practice social and motor skills to help them in daily life. All counselors for the camp are Currey Ingram faculty members with years of experience within the school.
The cost of the camp is $4,000 and a $400 deposit is due upon acceptance. Currey Ingram is located at 6544 Murray Lane. For more information, call 615-777-4819 or email eric.vinson@curreyingram.org.
