With spring break behind us, it’s time to look at summer options! Don’t overlook Gatlinburg as an option for your family. With amazing Airbnb and hotel properties available, there’s always lots to see and do.
It’s true that downtown Gatlinburg can get a little crowded and touristy, but the town is a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park filled with thousands of acres of natural beauty. There’s lots to see and do in this area including the newly DignZone in adjacent Sevierville (not to mention Dollywood), the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge and of course, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.
Of course, Eggo House of Pancakes is newly opened to add to your delicious excursion (be advised: it’s not easy to book due to popularity!)
Anakeesta
One of the top reasons to visit Gatlinburg! Nature-lovers can explore Anakeesta, the award-winning adventure park above downtown Gatlinburg, accessible by chairlift or shuttle bus. Anakeesta offers ziplines, a mountain coaster, and a swinging bridge walk high in the trees. In addition, there are restaurants and shops and a night walk multi-sensory experience available called Astra Lumina.
Gatlinburg is approximately three-and-a-half driving hours from Nashville. As you’re dreaming up summer vacation plans, be sure to keep it in mind. And learn more by visiting the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
