Art & Music Programs At Franklin Rec Facilities in April

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department hosts a variety of art programs; plus a new set of music programs at recreation facilities in Franklin. 

Local recording artist, producer, teacher, composer and pianist, Sarah Bonsignore hosts Connecting the Dots, a new music program series offering lessons in a variety of musical themes for children, teens and adults at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Programs include:

  • Preschool Music and Movement
    Tuesdays, April 6-27 | 10 to 10:45 a.m.
  • American Songbook and Jazz Standards for Adults
    Tuesdays, April 6-27 | 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  
  • Music and Movement
    Saturdays, April 10-24 | 9 to 9:45 a.m.
  • Intro. to Piano & Reading Music
    Saturdays, April 10-24 | 10 to 11:00 a.m. 
  • Intro. to Singing Harmony/Sight Reading
    Saturdays, April 10-24 | 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  

A variety of art programs are also offered a the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, for teens and adults including acrylic and oil painting, art journaling, mixed media and open studio workshops.

  • Open Studio Draw and Paint

  • Bob Ross Certified Oil Painting – April Misty Mountains

  • Mixed Media Gelli Plate Play – Mandala Inspired Designs

  • Spring Paint Party – Pet Portraits on Canvas
    Wednesday, April 14 | 1 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Mixed Media – Happy as a Daisy
    Sunday, April 18 | 1 to 5:00 p.m. 
  • Spring Paint Party – Pet Portraits on Canvas
    Sunday, April 18 | 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Spring Paint Party – Tulips on Wood
    Wednesday, April 21 | 1 to 3 p.m. 
  • Mixed Media Gelli Plate Play Steampunk Inspired Designs
    Sunday, April 25 | 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. 
  • Spring Paint Party – Tulips on Wood
    Sunday, April 25 | 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. 

A weekly Art Journaling and Mindfulness class will also be held at the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave., in Franklin on Thursdays, April 1-29 from 10: a.m. to 12 p.m. or on Tuesdays, April 6-27 from either 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
