Where Every Family Matters

Artful Tales at the Frist & Museums for Kids Around the Country

Take your little ones out for experiences related to art exhibits at museums. Children's museums can be found all over the country!

Artful Tales at the Frist Center, located in downtown Nashville, is a delightful monthly program geared for ages 3 and older to introduce and inspire them to the wonders of art. On the last Monday of each month beginning at 10:30 a.m., this free family oriented event pairs an educator with the day’s group of visitors to explore a current exhibit piece along with a story time. Next, everyone heads upstairs to the Martin ArtQuest Gallery for hands-on art fun at various stations including prints and collages, sketch and paint and more. You may think that ArtQuest is just for little ones, but think again! All ages are welcome to learn about and make art here. During Artful Tales, little ones work make art with their caregiver; a trained educator provides answers and supplies as needed.

There are other artful ways to engage little ones with art and creativity, too. Children’s Museums are found all over the country, so if you’re traveling, be sure to line up a visit on your itinerary.
