Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford is hosting a galentine-themed mammogram event in Murfreesboro on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The event takes place from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. and includes special giveaways. Register for the event online or by calling one of the participating facilities below.
Regular Mammograms Make Early Detection Easier
While it’s easy to ignore your health during your busy day-to-day lives, annual mammograms can keep you healthy as the years pass. Experts recommend that women age 40 and older have annual mammograms. However, studies have shown that breast cancer tends to be more aggressive in women in this age group.
While mammograms can’t prevent breast cancer, they can help detect it early when there are more treatment options — and before it spreads to other parts of the body. According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected while it’s contained to the breast, the survival rate is 99%.
