Where Every Family Matters

Baby & Kids Expo — July 21

Rutherford Parent's new event dedicated to all-things baby, kids and even back to school.

Mark your calendars for the new event in town brought to you by Rutherford Parent and Saint Thomas Women’s Care/Ascension. The Baby & Kids Expo takes place Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Admission is free. There will be hospital tours every half hour, a “Meet the Doctors” session, speakers and demonstrations by Saint Thomas Ascension experts. In addition to baby topics, there’s a good bit for families with school-age children, too. More than 35 vendors are on tap with educational and enrichment products and services. Kids will be eager to bounce on inflatables and participate in games and activities. Be sure to register for door prizes while you’re there.

Be one of the first people to visit The Law Offices of John Day’s booth to pick up a FREE bike helmet, too — while supplies last! They want to help lessen the amount of ER visits by kids with head injuries from riding a bike without a helmet. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), bicycling contributes to more head injuries than any other sport for children ages 5 – 14, yet only 48 percent of children wear a helmet when riding their bike. Each year approximately 300,000 kids go to the ER because of bike injuries, and 26,000 are treated for traumatic brain injuries.

Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital is located at 1700 Medical Center Pkwy., Murfreesboro. Call 615-256-2158, ext. 130, or visit nashvilleparent.com/bke18.
