Murfreesboro baseball tournaments begin this week with the Murfreesboro Baseball Association leagues. Prepare for the games and have some fun, too. Head on over to the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring and check out the newest exhibit.
Baseball fans of all ages can head to the Discovery Center May 20 – Sept. 10 for the traveling exhibit, Big League Fun. The 2,000-square-foot exhibit of hands-on discovery is filled with fun. The exhibit features baseball activities, simulated game experiences and trivia challenges. Kids enjoy important educational concepts for children while emphasizing the science and math behind baseball.
Kids explore the world of baseball and test their skills in pitching, throwing, fielding, hitting and base running, too. Choose a player position and jersey number. Then add your name and snap a photo in front of a baseball card backdrop. Pretend to be an announcer and deliver your play-by-play analysis using real game clips and sound effects.
The Discovery Center is located at 502 S.E. Broad St., Murfreesboro. Hours are Mon – Sat 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sun 1 – 5 p.m. Admission is $8, free for ages 2 and younger. Call 615-890-2300 or visit explorethedc.org.
