Bring the kids to Franklin for Blue & Gray Days — it's an educational outing you don't want to miss.

The Battle of Franklin Trust’s Blue and Gray Days in an annual events commemorating The Battle of Franklin that happened Nov. 30, 1864 – one of the worst disasters of the Civil War for the Confederate states.

Blue & Gray Days take place at both Carnton Plantation (1345 Eastern Flank Cir., Franklin) and The Carter House (1140 Columbia Ave., Franklin). Visitors to either locale will see Civil War re-enactors and be able to get hands on with specific tasks people used to perform in daily life. In addition, historical figures of the era (Abe Lincoln and others) will stroll the grounds greeting attendees and answering questions. Music, games of cricket and more make this a perfect educational event for families.

Tickets for Blue & Gray Days (including guided tours of Carnton and The Carter House) are $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 – 12. Tickets without tours are available for $6.
