Where Every Family Matters

Buddy Walk – Oct. 29

Team Landon is all smiles at last year's Buddy Walk supporting the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee. This year's event at Centennial Park takes place Saturday, Oct. 29.

The Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee (DSAMT) is a local organization providing resources and up-to-date information on Down syndrome, connecting hundreds of families to support programs, education and advocacy as well as introducing them to other families.

DSAMT’s signature event to raise money and awareness is its annual Nashville Buddy Walk at Centennial Park. It’s on Saturday, Oct. 29 starting at 7:30 a.m., and your family can register to walk and garner pledges to support the organization — DSAMT hopes to raise $300,000 this year.

After the walk, the fun continues with carnival games, inflatables, costumed characters, live music, vendors and more. New this year, there will be guest appearances by the cast of the A&E original documentary series Born This Way, which highlights the lives of seven young adults born with Down syndrome.
