Thereβs a brand-new month-long attraction coming to Middle Tennessee, and itβs setting up shop at The Fairgrounds Nashville. China Lights is a Chinese lantern festival that brings 30 huge displays to light up nine acres of The Fairgrounds.
It’s in town May 12 – June 11, and in addition to the giant lanterns, your family can also experience traditional Chinese performances, art and food. There will also be displays highlighting Chinese history and culture past to present.
“We’re excited to showcase The Fairgrounds Nashville in a whole new light,” says Laura Schloesser, executive director of The Fairgrounds Nashville. “Festival goers will be delighted by the exquisite lantern sculptures, traditional performances, beautiful art and delicious cuisine. It’s going to be a great family adventure,” she adds.
China Lights brings a team of Chinese artisans and technical staff from Sichuan Tianyu, located in Zigong, China to Tennessee to create the magical, vibrant experience for all ages. China Lights is the first of its kind in the mid-state.
China Lights runs Tue – Sun 5:30 – 10 p.m. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 ages 5 – 17, free ages 4 and younger.
