Contempo Kids Fall Break Classes

Intersection Music Ensemble hosts fall break classes for musical kids.

Intersection Music Ensemble’s Contempo Kids program aims to get kids writing and creating music while developing their unique musical voices. Ages 9 – 14 can participate in two fall break classes this month taking place at Casa Azafran.

On Monday, Oct. 15, students can explore musical storytelling by using time, rhythm and pitch to communicate a story or idea.

“Exploring Your Own Voice” is Friday, Oct. 19. Students will learn about texture and timbre as a means to communicate their musical points of view.

Along the way, kids will investigate music creation in new ways using a variety of tools to create original works.

Each session takes place from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. It’s $65 for one day, or $110 for both.

Casa Azafran is located at 2195 Nolensville Pike, Nashville. For more info, visit intersectionmusic.org.
