Countdown to the Olympics at Discovery Center

Go for the gold all summer at Discovery Center!

When it’s just too darn hot this summer, take the kids into the cool, air-conditioned wonder of The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring — a hands-on, environmental, cultural and educational museum located at 502 SE Broad St., Murfreesboro.

The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Adjacent to the Center is the protected Murfree Spring wetlands, a natural habitat for a variety of fish, amphibians and birds.

COUNTDOWN TO THE SUMMER OLYMPICS

Be in the action during Discovery Center’s “Countdown to the Summer Olympics” with special staff-led activities happening every day throughout the summer through July 28.

Plus, special projects in the STUDIO, self-guided activities for you and your family to explore and demonstrations from community partners throughout the summer! Demonstrations include the Harris Training and Riding Academy on Monday, July 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. Join for an afternoon of exploring equestrian sports!

INVESTIGATION STATION

  • Monday – Saturday @ 10 a.m.
  • Tuesday @ 5:30 p.m.
  • Join Discovery Center staff as you explore the amazing world of science through hands-on experiments and demonstrations with an Olympic twist.

GAME TIME

  • Monday – Friday @ 2 p.m.
  • Join staff for some fun physical activity  Olympic-style of course!
