Inspired by the beauty of the earth and our connection to the kingdoms of life, Pip & Pickles Farm, in partnership with A New Leaf Nashville, invites you to explore nature through the lens of inquiry and sustainability at our Summer Camps for ages 5-12. Campers will also get to exercise the body by way of hiking, yoga, and sports; and express the mind through art, music, writing, and handwork. Our explorations take us on many adventures throughout the natural landscape. Children may look for treasures such as geodes and fossils, engage in birdwatching, compare creek and pond ecology, build a herbarium collection, and care for our farm animals.
The Counselor in Training program is open for students ages 11-15, who will participate in camp activities while creating learning opportunities and fun for younger campers. Under the supervision of teachers and adult counselors, participants will develop an understanding of group dynamics and leadership skills.
In the Junior Farm Apprentice program, students ages 11-15 will have the opportunity to take on farm responsibilities and train with farm and animal experts. JFAs will learn how to take care of goats and chickens, train animals, care for our vegetable garden, maintain organic growing standards, harvest and cook, as well as run our small farmer’s market. We will also schedule visits, video conferences, or similar learning opportunities, with veterinarians, zoo and farm professionals, and other industry experts.
