Battle Ground Academy is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school serving students from age 3 through 12th grade. Founded in 1889, BGA helps students grow in Character, Scholarship, and Excellence within a community where they are known, supported, and challenged.
BGA’s inquiry-based academic program encourages students to think critically, ask meaningful questions, explore their interests, and take ownership of their growth. AN EDUCATION DESIGNED AROUND EACH STUDENT
At BGA, we believe every student has tremendous potential. Reaching that potential requires more than acquiring academic skills and knowledge. From the earliest years through graduation, BGA combines a strong academic foundation with personal attention, hands-on learning, and experiences that develop character, confidence, and intellectual curiosity.
The Class of 2026 earned more than $11.1 million in merit-based scholarship offers. Ninety-eight percent of the class was admitted to at least one of their top three college choices, and 84% was admitted to their first choice.
EARLY LEARNING CENTER
BGA’s Early Learning Center serves children in the 3s, pre-K4, and junior kindergarten programs.
Through purposeful play and early instruction in literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts, children learn to ask questions, explore ideas, and see themselves as capable and curious learners. Teachers create a language-rich environment where children are active participants in their learning and develop the confidence, independence, and foundational skills needed for kindergarten.

LOWER SCHOOL
BGA’s Lower School serves students in kindergarten through fourth grade at the historic Harpeth Campus.
Students build strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, and science while also learning through Spanish, art, music, wellness, technology, and design thinking. An inquiry-based curriculum encourages students to ask questions, make connections, solve problems, and develop a genuine love of learning.
Leadership development is woven throughout the Lower School experience as students learn to understand themselves, contribute to their classrooms and community, and recognize how their choices can positively affect others. Teachers know their students well and provide the encouragement and challenge each child needs to grow academically, socially, emotionally, creatively, and physically.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
BGA’s Middle School serves students in grades 5–8 during an important period of growth and discovery.
Challenging academics, hands-on learning, electives, athletics, arts, clubs, advisory, and leadership opportunities allow students to explore their interests and develop greater confidence and independence. The curriculum includes core academic subjects, honors-level opportunities, and electives in areas such as engineering, robotics, and the visual and performing arts.
Supported by faculty members who know and believe in them, Middle School students deepen their friendships, discover new strengths, and develop the skills and habits they will need for Upper School.
UPPER SCHOOL
BGA’s Upper School provides a rigorous and relevant college-preparatory experience in which students can pursue their interests, challenge themselves, and prepare confidently for what comes next.
Students may choose from a broad range of AP and honors courses, electives, and four signature academic concentrations: Entrepreneurial Leadership, Fine Arts, Global Studies, and STEM. Small classes allow teachers to provide personal attention, build meaningful mentoring relationships, and encourage students to write, reason, collaborate, and lead with integrity.
Individualized college counseling helps students identify colleges and universities that align with their goals, interests, and strengths. Through academics, athletics, arts, service, traditions, and student leadership, Upper School students develop the confidence and sense of purpose to thrive in college and beyond.

Families interested in Battle Ground Academy are encouraged to submit an inquiry and schedule a personalized campus visit. BGA accepts applications at all grade levels, although space may be limited. Primary entry points include the Early Learning Center and grades 4, 5, and 9.
Applications completed by the priority deadlines receive first consideration for admission and financial aid. Applications received afterward are considered on a space-available basis.
