Schools can have many goals, and some of them are very bland and unmotivating. The distant and abstract goal of gainful employment is not very motivating to children, however much we hope they will all achieve it. At Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy, we hope our students will discover the most motivating reason for study: God is making Himself known in all His works. We are made to love God, and when we study anything, we can come to love Him more. But the better the thing we study, the more glory we encounter. That’s why JECA focuses on the great works and ideas that have proffered glory to our culture for centuries. We teach our students to learn to love God in all the ways he makes himself known—in nature, in reason, in the works of man, and in His Word. God's glory is evident in all the academic disciplines that we study, from phonics in kindergarten to our 12th grade capstone thesis project.
