Studio NPL at the Nashville Public Library is a technology-driven learning environment for teens ages 12-18. Daily workshops focus on building 21st-century skills in STEM, digital literacy, and career readiness. Whether you want to be an engineer, filmmaker, artist, musician, or inventor, Studio NPL is the place for teens to discover and develop their passions.

This Summer, Studio NPL invites you to join us for one of our FREE intensives to learn new skills and explore new passions!

Southern Word Summer Studio

A week of writing, music production, and performance workshops allow teens to create, revise, and polish their work for performance and recording. The series culminates in a showcase for family and friends. Lunch not provided.

Studio NPL: Cotton and Content

Join us for an interdisciplinary textile arts workshop! Over this week, tweens/teens ages 11-18 will learn about natural dye, sewing, assemblage and embellishment, basic bookbinding, and interactive tech. The week culminates in a final handbound fiber book capturing each student's unique story. Lunch not provided.

Monster Medical

Join us for Monster Medical, a week-long collaborative storytelling RPG where teens play as newly graduated medics tasked with healing the monsters of a fantasy world. Teens will create maps, potions, equipment, media, and costumes using Studio NPL’s makerspace, including 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing machines, and a recording studio. Lunch not provided.

Project Planter: Rooted in Design

This program guides participants through the 3D design process, from prototype to final product. Participants will design a flowerpot, 3D-print a mold, and cast a succulent planter. Lunch not provided.
