But soft, what light beer through yonder window breaks? Guests will find out at the Discovery Center’s combined Wine & Whiskey + Shakesbeer event happening Saturday, May 14, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The event — one of Middle Tennessee’s most extensive tasting experiences of the year — takes place at the Discovery Center’s serene Murfree Spring natural area and features theatrical performances by Murfreesboro Little Theatre and M-PROV and Inebriated Shakespeare, along with samples of a variety of local craft brews plus wines and whiskeys brought to you by Stones River Total Beverage. Cuisine will be available for purchase from local food vendors.
Event participants include: Abbey of the Emerald Rose, Cedar Glade Brews, Dark Humor Brewing, FatFinger Brewing, Franklin’s Fruit Tea, Frequency 528 Brewing, Hutton & Smith Brewing, Lazy Sunday Brewing, Marrowbone Creek Brewing, Mid-State Brewsters, MTSU Fermentation Science, My Roots, New Heights Brewing, Prohibition Home Brewing, Smackdab Brewing, Spread-Eagle Handcrafted Ales, Table of Cuba, Thompson Brood, Thorcraft Brewing, and Vitruvian Artisan Ales.
Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door and include entrance to the event, souvenir tasting glass and unlimited beverage samples. Designated driver tickets are $15. Proceeds for the event benefit the Discovery Center. If rain is forecast, the event will be held May 15. Attendees must be 21 or older.
