Free “Steel Magnolias” in B’wood & Franklin

Dolly Day is Friday, Sept. 25 and in the evening, you can catch one of her most beloved films for free:

• The city of Brentwood is bringing Movies in the Park back to honor Dolly Parton with a free screening of “Steel Magnolias.” Bring your blankets and chairs (and sense of humor!) to the Crockett Park Amphitheater (1500 Volunteer Parkway, Brentwood) starting at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. showing. Food trucks will be on hand … and organizers suggest that you wear pink!

• The city of Franklin is hosting a free showing of “Steel Magnolias” at Bicentennial Park (214 North Margin St., Franklin) starting at dusk. Pre-movie activities begin at 7 p.m.
