Secret Garden Tour

The Secret Garden Tour lets you stroll through intimate gardens tucked away in local homes around Murfreesboro on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. or Sunday, June 8 from 1 – 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Discovery Center. $15 per person. The garden map is available at the Discovery Center website.

Sugarbush Farms, 3606 Sugarbush Court, Murfreesboro

What began as a small urban goat rescue has blossomed into Sugarbush Farms—a vibrant flower farm nestled in the heart of Murfreesboro. Dedicated to regenerative agriculture, Sugarbush grows its blooms organically, without the use of pesticides, and integrates sustainable practices like composting with nutrient-rich animal manure and companion planting. Every element of the farm reflects a deep respect for the land and its natural rhythms.

At this stop, a multitalented gardener has lovingly transformed his childhood home into a lush oasis filled with a stunning array of perennials. Every corner of the property reflects his creative vision and passion for plants, offering visitors endless inspiration—even for turning a simple front porch into a serene, beautiful retreat. The gardener also runs a small business, Eden in the City, offering hand-selected plants and pottery to friends and family. During the tour, guests will have the special opportunity to browse and purchase these unique items.

Murfreesboro Community Garden, 806 E State St, Murfreesboro

In 2014, the Shultz Family was offered a unique opportunity—a generous gift of land from a local church to begin a community garden. From that seed of generosity, the Murfreesboro Community Garden was born. Since opening in 2015, the garden has welcomed nearly 1,000 volunteers and harvested hundreds of pounds of fresh, locally grown produce. It’s more than just a garden—it’s a thriving hub for growing both food and community.
