The latest big trend in family entertainment and group outings are escape rooms, and Extreme Escape Games in Cool Springs is the latest offering in the Middle Tennessee community.
Extreme Escape Games offers team-building exercises in which you and your fellow teammates/family members are locked inside a themed room. Your goal is to get out within the 60-minute time limit. In order to do so, you have to work together within the interactive room to find clues, solve ciphers, crack codes — each one leading to another clue until you gain the secret code to unlock the escape route. Along the way, several twists and turns heighten the fun … just when you think you’re probably almost done and close to being out, you never know what else might be revealed!
Extreme Escape Games currently has two rooms your family can book:
QUARANTINE
Theme/Objective: The military holds secrets of a previous zombie apocalypse. Enter the quarantine and decipher its mysteries to save humanity.
MAD SCIENTIST
Theme/Objective: Something’s not right in this office. Now the scientist himself needs your help.
There are four more rooms opening soon. Two of theme will have themes centering around illusions and circus fun opening this winter. These two are coming this fall:
THE UNITED ESCAPES OF AMERICA
Theme/Objective: Suspicion of a secret agent. Does he work for us or someone else? The clues hold the answers.
THE LAB
Theme/Objective: Is it a cover-up for a thief? Time to spy and unravel the bad guy’s surprises.
The escape rooms are geared toward ages 12 and older, but kids as young as 9 can enjoy them alongside Mom and Dad — think of it as a live-action version of a Scooby-Doo episode, because finding/solving clues is key and sleuthing skills are paramount. Each room is designed for up to 10 people. Admission is $32 per person.
Extreme Escape Games is located at 1735 Galleria Blvd., Ste. 1015, next to Toys R Us. To learn more or to book an escape room, call 615-332-5535 or visit extremeescapegames.net.
