Fall Fiesta Day: Oct. 20

A Latino celebration for the whole family!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 20 for a day of free family fun during the Fall Fiesta. The celebration of Latino culture takes place from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Volunteer State Community College (1480 Nashville Pike, Gallatin).

Lots of activities are on tap, including a soccer goal kicking contest with several age categories from kids to adult.

Aztec dance group Quetzalli Yolotl is the headlining performer. Nashville band El Recreo will perform Latin rock while another Nashville band Cactus Fire will play Tex-Mex, conjunto, rancheras, cumbias, polkas and boleros.

A food cook-off contest boasts foods from several different Latino nations. Judging takes place at 11 a.m. Afterward, families can sample the goods. A free Mexican lunch and drinks start at noon.

In addition, the Fall Fiesta features art activities, face painting and kids’ games.
