One of Middle Tennessee’s popular day/overnight camp locations for kids — YMCA Camp Widjiwagan — offers up three fun fall happenings for kids and families this month, and two of them required advance registration. So, mark your calendars and plan ahead for these festivities:
DAY & EQUESTRIAN CAMP: A WHOLE NEW WORLD — REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Monday, Oct. 10
7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Ages 5 – 12

During this outdoor expedition, kids will form crews, build their own ships on land and discover nature in the backyard of Camp Widjiwagan. Participants can enjoy zip lining, climbing the Alpine Tower, arts and crafts, s’mores and more.
WIDJI PUMPKIN FEST
Saturday, Oct. 15 – Sunday, Oct. 16
Sat 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sun 12 – 6 p.m.
All ages
$5 general admission, $5 activity band for major activities
This day of family-friendly fall fun includes face painting, pumpkin patch activities, zip lining, food trucks, live music and more.
OVERNIGHT & EQUESTRIAN CAMP: THE GREAT PUMPKIN HUNT — REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Friday, Oct. 21 – Sunday, Oct. 23
6 p.m. Fri – 4 p.m. Sun
Ages 7 – 13
$150 for basic camp, $175 for those wanting to do the equestrian portion
Campers will carve ghoulish pumpkins, show off their creativity in elaborate costume contests, explore the camp on hayrides, compete in the Third Annual Downhill Pumpkin Races and more.
