Get your family’s fourth of July off with a bang by participating in The Andrews Cadillac Firecracker 5K/10K and Fun Run on Tuesday, July 4. The race includes something for all ages and proceeds go to the YMCA’s annual giving campaign. Preregistration is happening now (pre-registered participants are guaranteed a short-sleeved tech race shirt!). All races in the Firecracker begin and end at the Maryland Farm YMCA located at 5101 Maryland Way in Brentwood.
What to Know About the Firecracker Races:
• A Kids Fun Zone happens from 7 – 8:30 a.m. (Note that the Fun Zone is not for childcare; children cannot be left unattended here).
• Supervised childcare is available in the Maryland Farm’s YMCA YPLAY area beginning at 7 a.m. You must be present with a valid I.D. to use the service.
• The Firecracker Fun Run starts at 7 a.m.; 10K starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 7:45 a.m.
• Pre-registered participants can pick up race packets on July 3 at Fleet Feet in Brentwood from 12 – 6 p.m. Otherwise, pick them up on race day at the Y.
• Fees for the event are $35 ($40 on race day); the Kid’s 1-Mile Fun Run is $10 per child.• Online registration happens now through July 1 at 11:59 p.m. REGISTER HERE.
The YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign contributions go toward nurturing the potential of children and teens, improving community health and well-being and to the support of people in need in the area.
