The first Gr8t Duck Chase will be held on September 17 at 10 a.m. in Murfreesboro at the Boro Beach (SportsCom’s outdoor swimming pool). Going forward, the duck chase will be an annual event.
On the Saturday of the event, 5,000 rubber duckies will slip and slide down the Murfreesboro Beach outdoor pool to compete for First, Second, and Third Place prizes! Even the Slacker Quacker coming in at last place will have a chance to win!
In addition, there will be food trucks, vendors and a Golden Duck Jeep contest! You can purchase a duck by visiting DuckRace.com/Murfreesboro.
The duck race is organized by ‘The Gr8t Chase,’ a non-profit that is named in honor of Chase Donnell, who died of cancer 8-months after his diagnosis. Funds raised by the organization help families with children battling cancer and other terminal illnesses. The Gr8t Chase was co-founded by Chase’s mom Jennifer several years after his death and today, Chase’s positive attitude continues to help and inspire others.
On October 29, the non-profit will hold their 7th annual Gr8t Chase 5K. The timed and chipped event is open to all runners who would like to participate.
