Where Every Family Matters

First Ever Tennessee STEAM Festival

Get ready for 10 days of STEAM-related activities for kids during this event kicking running Oct. 12 - 22.

The Tennessee STEAM Festival explodes into Middle Tennessee for the first time ever this month. The festival aims to raise awareness and build interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math). Events take place Oct. 12 – 22. Kids have the chance to experience activities that go beyond the walls of children’s museums and science centers. Kids will visit with local businesses, universities, schools and neighborhoods through interactions with scientists, engineers, designers and more.

The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring (502 SE Broad St., Murfreesboro) is leading the initial effort. One of the scheduled events is an Aviation Sampler on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. for kids in grades 5 – 8. There’s also Science Café: “Robots, Spaceships, and Greeblies – Build Your Dream” at the Discovery Center later this day from 6:30 – 8 p.m. There are FIVE more events this day alone, too! Those events, however, take place at different locations.

So Many STEAM Activities!

In addition to the activities at the Discovery Center, many more events take place all over the area, too. Find events at locations like the Country Music Hall of Fame, MTSU, the Rutherford County Farmer’s Market and more. Visit the website for full event dates and details.
