First Tee Smyrna Registering for Spring

The youth golf program that seeks to build character and values in kids while teaching them the game of golf has three spring sessions, and registration is now open.

First Tee is an organization that helps instill nine core character attributes and nine healthy habits in kids while teaching them the game of golf. The Smyrna branch has three sessions beginning in March, and registration is now open.

The nine core values First Tee identifies and incorporates in its program on the golf course are:

SPRING SEMESTER IN SMYRNA

There are three options available running March – May at Smyrna Golf Course.

PLAYER

Thursdays, March 12 – May 7
5 – 6:30 p.m.
Ages 7 – 18

This class is for all new First Tee participants. It covers the nine core values and fundamental golf skill activities. A written, putting and non-hole playing test is given at the conclusion of the semester.

PAR

Thursdays, March 12 – April 30
5 – 6:30 p.m.
Ages 9 – 18
$68
This class is for returning PLAYer-certified participants and covers the following life skills: Exploring the game; respecting the rules; five tips for meeting someone new; three tips for having fun; the four Rs; personal par. Written and skills testing will be given during this session.

BIRDIE

Thursdays, Marcy 12 – May 7
5 – 6:30 p.m.
Ages 10 – 18
$68
This class is for both new and returning Birdie-level students. The life skills covered include: Dreams and goals; setting goals that are positive and important to you; setting goals that are specific and under your control; setting different types of goals; getting to your goal; dealing with challenges. Written and skills testing are only given to second-session Birdie students.
