Kids ages 12 and younger who love fishing can bait a hook and cast their line during the Crappie USA Classic’s Kids Fishing Rodeo.
It takes place Saturday, March 26 on Old Hickory Lake at Flipper’s Bait and Tackle (200 Odoms Bend Road, Gallatin). Sign-ups are from 8 – 9 a.m., and free fishing is from 9 – 11 a.m.
Kids just need to bring their own poles, and live bait is OK to use. All participants are eligible to win one of six $1,000 scholarships (winners will be drawn at the main Crappie USA Classic event in Paris, Tenn. in October). A parent must accompany each child.
