Where Every Family Matters

Free Pediatric Physicals and Immunizations Thru Oct. 30

Children Ages 0-18 can receive free services at both Nashville Connectus Health locations.

As many families prepare to send children back to school in person in the coming weeks, Connectus Healthcare is offering free pediatric physicals, sports physicals and immunizations Monday, Oct. 12 through Friday, Oct. 30. Each child will also receive a free backpack with school supplies at his or her visit.

According to the CDC, it is crucial to maintain routine vaccination schedules during COVID-19, as they protect against illnesses that lead to medical visits and hospitalization, putting additional strain on the healthcare system in the midst of a pandemic. The CDC has reported that the routine vaccines already given to U.S. children born between 1994 and 2013 will prevent an average of 4.1 illnesses per child.

Suzanne Hurley, co-CEO of Connectus Health, said that the nonprofit’s two Nashville clinics have seen a decline in routine and preventative visits throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including a downward trend in the number of pediatric immunizations administered.

“Our team has remained dedicated to creating a safe environment for our patients, and we hope that parents will take advantage of these services,” Hurley said. “Not only are we offering these critical immunizations and physicals for free, but these preventative measures will yield significant health care cost savings for families in the future.”

All school-required pediatric immunizations will be administered if needed. Uninsured patients are welcomed, and there will be no out-of-pocket costs to any patient. Appointments are recommended and can be made by calling (615) 292-9770.

Connectus Vine Hill is located at 601 Benton Avenue and open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its Priest Lake location is located at 2637 Murfreesboro Pike and open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information about Connectus Health, visit www.connectus.org.
