Fun Runs Keep Kids Healthy!

We don’t need the American Heart Association to tell us that childhood obesity is the number one health concern among parents in the U.S. – topping drug abuse and smoking. But Tennessee and other southern states have seen childhood obesity rates doubling and tripling in the past 30 years.

Try a Fun Run with your kids! Carol Goodrow, author of the book Kids Running: Have Fun, Get Faster & Go Farther (Breakaway Books; $10.95) encourages parents to get their children excited about running. “Running is natural for children. It allows them to set and reach goals.”
