With the stifling heat of summer upon us, make a plan to go get soaked! Now’s the time to visit Soaky Mountain Waterpark, the 50-acre watery mecca nestled in the Smoky Mountains. Located three-and-a-half hours east of Nashville, the park is in its fourth season and a daily admission ticket includes all of the waterslides, attractions and pools you could ever hope for. Get Drenched at Soaky Mountain Waterpark
Can’t beat the heat? Soaky Mountain is loaded with sprays, waves, slides and coasters to really chill you out! The Edge dueling water coaster includes slides, drops and blasts. The Avalaunch coaster, is a two-person tube ride featuring hills, valleys and wide-open turns. Soaky Surge is a 35,000 square-foot-wave pool that generates up to six-foot waves. Families will love the ramped-up adventure river known as Black Bear Rapids (it’s NOT lazy!); Littles can get sprayed in The Hive, a colorful kiddy area. Slides, slides and more slides include the “snake” trio of the Cottonmouth Coils, Timber Rattler’s Rage and Copperhead Clash. Need to unwind? Live music fills the park on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 – 5 p.m. near the Wipe Out Bar. And when it’s time to bring’em in, there’s plenty of dining and drink options available.
Soaky Mountain is located at 175 Gists Creek Road. Owned by Wilderness at the Smokies, you do not have to be a guest of the resort to visit the waterpark. Daily admission tickets (available online) are $49.99 for anyone over 42 inches; $41.99 for anyone under 42 inches. Children under age 3 do not require a ticket.
