Before summer is upon us, your family can learn new outdoor skills with Bass Pro Shop’s Go Outdoors event taking place May 19, 20, 26 and 27.
Go Outdoors provides ways to gear up for camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, picnicking and other summer adventures. It includes a variety of free activities, including how-to seminars for kids and adults, workshops, kids’ crafts, giveaways and more. There’s even a chance to win a VIP race and fishing experience at Daytona International Speedway and Lake Lloyd in Florida.

SATURDAY, MAY 19
11 a.m. – Kayaking: From family fun to the tournament trail choose the kayak that fits the fun
2:30 p.m. – Paddle Sports Accessories: Learn how to select the right life jacket, dry bags and more for your next adventure
3:30 p.m. – Table Top Grilling: From campsites to tailgates discover how you can get the best results anywhere you grill
SUNDAY, MAY 20
1:30 p.m. – Fryers: learn operating functions to fix everything from fish to French fries
3 p.m. – Dutch Ovens and Camp Cookware Basics: Get great tips on campsite cooking with Dutch ovens and camp cookware
SATURDAY, MAY 26
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and Kansas City Barbecue Society present a free barbecue sampling as award-winning teams will showcase their pitmaster culinary expertise
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Free photo download: kids can create a color-me photo overlay to display their free photo
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Free catch-and-release pond
11 a.m.to 4 p.m. – Free kids’ craft
1 to 4 p.m. – Free Flossie’s Funnel Cake samples
