Move over, Hattie B’s, there’s a new Hattie in town and she’s as cold as ice! Hattie Jane’s Creamery — the brainchild of the folks behind Puckett’s Grocery, Puckett’s Boat House and Homestead Manor, i.e. A. Marshall Family Foods Inc. — is now open at 16 Public Square in Downtown Columbia, right inside Puckett’s door. Named after company COO Claire Marshall Crowell’s daughter, the ice cream is produced onsite in small batches with recipes concocted by A. Marshall Family Foods chefs. Menu items at Hattie Jane’s include flavors like “Chocoholic,” “Tahitian Vanilla,” “Cereal Bowl” and “Roasted Peach Cobbler,” although the items will change out. Single scoops are $3.50; doubles are $4.75; triples are $5.75. Waffle cones are baked on sight as are cookies and brownies. Hours are Mon – Thu 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Fri – Sat 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. A second location is in the works for Murfreesboro come late fall when another Puckett’s Grocery opens on the square there. If you’re planning on being in Columbia, make sure you pop into Hattie Jane’s!
