Get ready for one of Nashville’s most beloved family traditions! The Iroquois Steeplechase returns to Percy Warner Park on May 10 — and this year promises something truly special for families and children alike.

For more than 40 years, the Steeplechase has been about more than just thrilling horse races. It’s been about making a difference for kids. Since 1981, the event has raised over $11 million for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The funds help to provide life-saving care for thousands of children and their families.

This year’s event shines a spotlight on 11-year-old Caroline, the 2025 Child Ambassador. Caroline’s inspiring story reminds us all why this cause matters. Diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma at just four years old, Caroline has undergone intense treatments — chemotherapy, surgeries, radiation, immunotherapy, and stem cell transplants. Though she was declared cancer-free in 2019, Caroline has bravely faced a relapse and continues her fight with unwavering spirit. Her courage is nothing short of heroic.

“We can’t express how grateful we are to Caroline’s care teams at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital,” said her mother, Margaret. “Their compassion and dedication mean the world to our family.”

Caroline will be joined by Dr. C. Wright Pinson, Deputy CEO and Chief Health System Officer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Pinson will serve as the 2025 Honorary Chair. Dr. Pinson has dedicated more than three decades to the care and wellbeing of patients and families, making his role in this year’s event especially meaningful.

Official Artwork

Families will also enjoy a visual treat with the unveiling of the Official Artwork for the 2025 race by celebrated Nashville photographer Michael Gomez. Known for his work with major artists and publications, Gomez’s artwork captures Snap Decision, a champion horse making history with his third consecutive win. Commemorative posters and t-shirts featuring the artwork will be available on race day—perfect keepsakes from a day your family won’t forget.

With a variety of family-friendly experiences — from thrilling races to beautiful picnic-style tailgating — there’s something for everyone. Limited tickets remain, including access to exclusive areas like the Hunt Club and Royal 615 Lounge, known as Nashville’s “hottest party” at the races.

Don’t miss your chance to enjoy a day of excitement, community, and purpose — all while supporting kids like Caroline.
