Where Every Family Matters

Kids and the Problem With Inconsistent Parents

Loving your children means nurturing, but it also means discipline. Your kids will be much better off if you can be calm and consistent in your relationship.

effective discipline to raise healthy children

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT:

• Telling your child how you want him to behave in any given moment before it happens: "We're going to Jackson's football game. You can sit with me and we'll get popcorn or a treat at some point as long as you are able to behave yourself."

• Model good behavior to your child (do as I do)

• Noticing your child's good behavior outloud to your child.
