Where Every Family Matters

La Vergne Dog Park Grand Opening Scheduled

In addition, don't forget the upcoming "Clear the Shelters' event at Rutherford Co. PAWS.

Need a new place to take your furry friend in La Vergne? We’ve got just the place.

The City of La Vergne is planning on a grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new dog park, located at 377 Stones River Road, on Saturday, August 27. The community is invited to come out and be a part of the grand opening and ribbon cutting with light refreshments and giveaways.

“We’re excited to finally be able to open the dog park to residents and their pets,” says Parks Director David McGowen. “COVID-19 has caused a lot of delays for this project but we’re finally here and excited to be able to open another park for our community.”

There are two separate dog parks, one for smaller dogs and another for larger breeds over 30 lbs. There are also water fountains and benches. The Boyd Foundation is expected to be in attendance along with city officials. In 2019, the City was awarded $25,000 as part of the Dog Park Dash grant program.

In addition, stop by PAWS on John R. Rice Blvd. in Murfreesboro for the 2022 Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation event Aug. 12 – 14 and Aug. 19 – 21. All available pets have waived adoption fees.
