There’s still time to get Pilgrimage Festival tickets, but you’d better move quickly! Only 2-day Pilgrimage Passes (Tier Three; $275 each) and one-day (Sunday) General Admission tickets ($135 each) remain. The popular music festival takes place Sept. 23 – 24 and includes free admission for kids 10 and younger with a paying adult. Fun for kids will take place in a kid’s tent complete with The Vanderbilt Health Lil’ Pilgrims Family Stage.
Just for Kids
Grammy-nominated Ralph Covert of Ralph’s World fame (ralphsworld.com) anchors the kids’ line up this year. Covert recently launched his new CD, Time Machine Guitar, and he’ll perform his songs to get kids dancing on the spot. Also on the kids’ stage: Red Yarn (folk music and puppetry); Steve Elci and Friends (pop and participation); Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers (pirate fun) and others.
Kids can sample Go Go Squeeze yogurt and wear a wristband (with space for your phone number in case they get lost). Kids can also create glow-in-the-dark “sound bracelets” in the expanded arts area, courtesy of the Frist Center for Visual Arts.
“We’ve expanded our activities stage, renaming it ‘Storyville,’ Covert says, “And we’ll have a full slate of activities and workshops for young guests, including sessions in kids’ improv, puppet and magic shows, and a kids’ songwriting workshop.”
Returning to the festival are the popular pirate play ship, face painting, balloon fun and The Mom Spot for nursing mothers courtesy of Baby & Co.
The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival is at The Park at Harlinsdale (239 Franklin Road, Franklin). Parking passes are sold out. Purchase tickets and see FAQs at pilgrimagefestival.com.
