Where Every Family Matters

Little Art House for Kids

Local sisters recently opened a brand new creative endeavor right on Music Row, and it's bustling with lots of hands-on classes for little ones! Pictured above: The Greene girls take a break from exploring their creativity to pose for a pic at Little Art House in Nashville.

Call it destiny. Sisters Emma Brandford and Leighton Lancaster grew up in Columbia, Tenn., with an art teacher mom. They were surrounded with art as kids, and they’ve grown up to become licensed, experienced art teachers themselves.

After teaching several art camps in partnership with University School of Nashville, the sisters recently opened their own studio on Music Row.

Little Art House offers several different types of art classes for adults, plus there’s a big focus on kids. Age-specific classes for children in grades K – 4 and 5 – 8 are available, and Little Art House also has a Baby Sensory Art Class (ages 6 – 24 months) as well as a Toddler Art Class (ages 2 – 4 years). Private lessons are available as well. This month, Little Art House has two seasonal workshops for kids:

Funky Pumpkins!
Saturday, Oct. 15
10 – 11:30 a.m.
Ages 5 – 14 will use a variety of techniques for decorating pumpkins. $25

Creating Costumes!
Wednesday, Oct. 19
4 – 5 p.m.
Ages 5 – 12 can make their own costume accessories for Halloween. There will be materials for masks, wands, hats, shields and other props. $25

Registration’s required for both workshops. Little Art House is located at 1317 16th Ave. S. Call 615-933-9644 or visit littlearthousenashville.com.
