Where Every Family Matters

“Meet the Doula” at BW Library

Sometimes a woman just knows she'd like a little more care and attention for her child birthing experience.

All too often, pregnant women think they’re ready for childbirth when they arrive at the hospital or birth center to deliver their baby, only to find out something different. The reality of labor — and the unexpected things that can come up during childbirth — can leave a woman far away from the joyous birth experience she’d hoped for.
While it may seem like there’s nothing you can do to prepare for the unknowns surrounding the birth of a baby, you actually can set yourself up for child-birth success.

Mothering the Mother

Enter the doula. She’s an expert at childbirth, a therapist, a friend, and pretty much anything else you need her to be before, during and after the birth of your baby. The doula’s sole purpose is to support you during your childbearing experience.
If you’re expecting a baby and want to know more about how you can enhance your birth experience with a doula, you’re in luck.
“Meet the Doula” takes place on Wednesday, May 16 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Presented by the Nashville Birth Collective (a non-profit community of birth professionals), find out how to enhance your birth experience.

“Meet the Doula” takes place at the Brentwood Library, 8109 Concord Road, Brentwood, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Learn more by contacting the Nashville Birth Collective.
