Where Every Family Matters

Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk

How about a cake pop now that's you've worked off all of those calories?! The Mother's Day 5K Run/Walk is taking place on Sunday, May 8

Enjoy Mother’s Day this year with other women and your family by doing something active! The Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk happens at beautiful Shelby Park — rain or shine — on Sunday, May 8. Event organizers say it’s best to pre-register in order to pick up race packets prior to the race on Saturday, May 7 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Nashville Running Company (1105 Woodland St., Nashville).
Parking for the Sunday race is at Walk of Fame Park (121 Fourth Ave. S.). The race actually starts at 401 S. 20th St., and all participants must have a signed waiver.

Here’s what’s going on:

• Kids’ Dash — Free: For children 8 and younger, it’s 100 meters long and all finishers get a ribbon. Kids’ Dash starts at 8:15 a.m.

• 5K Run/Walk — $32.99 until May 3; increases to $39.99. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. Mothers with strollers: Children in strollers must wear a helmet, and you can only start once the other walkers and runners have started. Moms who cross the finish line receive a rose and a cake pop!

• Awards will be given to the top three participants, male and female, in each age group and overall.
